Basic Regular Verb Conjugation

Verbs have two parts: the stem and the ending. The ending is one of these three: -AR, -ER, or -IR. Let's look at the verb cantar (to sing). The stem of this verb is "CANT" the ending is "AR".

Regular - AR Verb Conjugation:126
To conjugate this verb, and all other regular verbs, we keep the stem and change the ending. The endings for regular -AR verbs will be the same.

Ex: CANTAR -> CANTar -> CANTO (I sing)

Below is a regular -AR verb conjugation chart. The stem of the verb is in italics and the ending is in bold.

CANTAR	PRESENT	CANTAR	PRETERITE
yo canto	nosotros cantamos	yo canté	nosotros cantamos
tú cantas	nosotras cantamos	tú cantaste	nosotras cantamos
